Important Information for Your Cairo Excursion

What to Bring for Comfort and Entry

Ensure you have these essential items packed for a smooth and enjoyable day exploring the historical sites:

  • Valid Identification: Passport or official government-issued ID card (mandatory for border/checkpoint crossings).
  • Comfortable Footwear: You will be walking extensively across uneven terrain at the Giza Plateau and museum floors. Sturdy, broken-in walking shoes are essential.
  • Sun Protection: Sunglasses, a wide-brimmed hat, and high-SPF sunscreen are crucial, as shade is limited at the pyramid sites.

Know Before You Go: Essential Requirements

To ensure a seamless experience, please review these critical administrative and physical requirements:

  • Visa Requirements: Most international nationalities require a valid Egyptian visa to enter Cairo and mainland Egypt. Please check current regulations well in advance of your travel date and secure your visa beforehand if necessary.
  • Pyramid Interior Access Restriction: For safety and structural preservation reasons, visitors wishing to enter the interior chambers of the Great Pyramid of Khufu (Cheops) often have strict weight or physical fitness limitations. Currently, the standard guideline requires visitors to weigh under 210 lbs (approx. 95 kg) to safely navigate the narrow internal passages.
  • Hydration and Rest Stops: Frequent stops are scheduled during the long transfer to allow for restroom breaks and stretching. Your comfort is our priority throughout the journey.
